The Line-Up

Net margin on the same product across grocery, Amazon FBA and TikTok Shop, side by side. The biggest channel is rarely the one that pays.

The workings

The same product earns a different margin in every channel, and the ranking is rarely the one the revenue suggests. Grocery pays less per unit and moves volume; marketplaces pay more per unit and take fees that grow with every service you lean on. This page prices one unit through each channel with the same cost of goods and the same freight, and ranks what is left.

The number to watch is gross profit per unit after landed cost, not revenue and not percentage margin. A channel that pays you £0.40 a unit on 200,000 units beats one that pays £0.90 on 20,000 — but only if you have the cash to fund the volume, which is a different page (The Wait).

Break-even sale price per channel is printed at the bottom: the shelf price below which the channel pays you nothing. Everything above it is negotiation.
